Digital Economy Committee

The Digital Economy Committee (DEC) unites companies focusing on digital technology and innovation to foster collaboration and engage with government officials, regulators and key stakeholders on digital transformation. The DEC promotes the benefits of the digital economy—competitiveness, innovation and job creation—to boost Belgium’s digital ambitions and attract foreign investment.

Goals:

  • Promote and communicate business recommendations on digital topics.
  • Increase the level of digital ambition for Belgium and raise the importance of digital innovation. 
  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations to policymakers on issues such as AI, the data economy, and safeguarding an open internet.
  • Build the DEC's reputation through targeted initiatives to strengthen its presence in the digital economy policy debate.

The DEC drives leadership in technology and innovation, championing optimism about the opportunities they create for Belgium’s dynamic, open economy.
