Pfizer wins Galenus Prize

The vaccine against Covid-19 developed by Pfizer and BioNTech wins the Belgian Galenus Prize

We are pleased to announce that the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech against the Covid-19 was awarded yesterday evening the prestigious Belgian Galenus Prize 2020 for the most innovative medicine.

The Prix Galien was created in France in 1970 by a pharmacist named Roland Mehl. Its aim was to promote significant advances in pharmaceutical research. Each year, the award has been an opportunity to give credit to the most important drugs introduced into the public market as well as to the achievements of the best research team in the pharmaceutical field.

This year, the jury has decided to give the Belgian Galenus price for the most innovative medicine to the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech against Covid-19.

The jury particularly highlighted the innovative technology as well as the major impact Comirnaty had on our society.

The whole Belgian vaccine team as well as colleagues from Puurs were present to celebrate this greatly appreciated recognition of our efforts.
