Belgian pharma valley
It is no coincidence that Belgium plays such a central role in this story. Within the Pfizer group, the Belgian branch has historically played an important role. Thanks to years of investments in Belgian research capacity and expertise, our country is a pharma valley within Europe.
Luc Van Steenwinkel, Vice President BioTech Puurs : "We are very grateful to the Flemish government for this beautiful recognition. Everyone is extremely proud and grateful for what we achieve here in Flanders. This is only possible because of our many years of experience, our high-tech site, but especially because of our thousands of employees who make an impact every day."
Through Pfizer's distribution center in Zaventem, these millions of vaccines are shipped to more than 100 countries. Danny Hendrikse, Vice President Intercompany Operations at Pfizer adds: "Within Supply Chain and Intercompany Operations, we are very proud of the successful innovative development and execution of the delivery process at -75°C, delivering the vaccines to +99.99% in good quality."
