The importance of clinical trials for patients in Belgium and beyond

For the fifth event of AmCham Belgium's Year of Healthcare, we welcome you to discuss clinical trials and their importance in Belgium. This event is organized in collaboration with Pfizer, who will be presenting their Clinical Research Unit (PCRU) in Brussels and will provide insights from this Innovative and Transformational Center of Excellence for Clinical Research at the heart of Europe.

Clinical trials are an essential part of a drug assessment study. Phase 1 is the first stage involving testing on humans, where healthy volunteers participate in trials before the drug is able to be administered to those with a medical condition. 

During this session, you will learn more about the phase 1 of clinical trials and the importance they hold for drug research. You will also hear from the patient perspective about the experience of being a volunteer and the future of clinical trials in Belgium.
