AmCham Belgium is proud to support a Webiner by PwC on the ongoing Brexit trade negotiations. Progress is lacking for important points such as the ‘level playing field’ or fisheries and there’s also no clarity yet regarding any adequate decision with regard to data flows to the UK. Set deadlines between the EU and the UK seem to be ignored and precious time is ticking away. From a business perspective, if you haven’t already, now is the time to start implementing all necessary changes with regard to any EU-UK activities.

In June, the general expectation was that a new agreement on the Future Relationship between the EU and the UK would be the main or at least a substantive topic of discussion at the EU Summit of 15-16 October. Sadly, after reaffirmed declarations of good intentions over the summer, the EU and the UK do not seem to be close to any kind of agreement, let alone a comprehensive trade agreement.

Specialist Claire De Lepeleire from PwC as well as Nadja De Bie and Karolien Vandenberghe from PwC Legal, will present a program that addresses essential updates of the Brexit negotiations. These will include the standing point and certainties, protections obtained for the Implementation Agreement, differences of the future trade agreement, the impacts companies should address, and a closer look at legal matters.
