Stéphanie Rutten appointed new CEO of AmCham Belgium
Dear members,
I am pleased to announce that Stéphanie Rutten will join AmCham Belgium as our new CEO as from May 2, 2022.
Our Nominations Committee led an exhaustive search over the past months to find a suitable replacement for Marcel Claes, who is retiring from the Chamber after more than 17 years of service.
I am convinced that Stéphanie is the right choice to help further raise the profile and impact of our association in the public debate, at this time of profound change in our economy and society. She has the right background and experience to speak for US and other international companies in Belgium.
A Belgian national, Stéphanie has lived and studied in the US, having completed a post-graduate degree at Columbia Law School (New York). She returned to Belgium in 1996 to continue her career in corporate law and M&A at Linklaters, a leading international law firm in Brussels. In 2005, she left the legal practice to become an advisor to H.R.H. Princess Astrid, in her capacity as President of the Belgian Red Cross.
Stéphanie is a Partner at Whyte Corporate Affairs, where she has provided strategic advice in public affairs and corporate communications since 2012. She has a strong affinity with the international business community, especially with US companies, and a broad network of Belgian policymakers and professional associations.
Please join me in welcoming Stéphanie to our community! I know she is eager to start meeting our members as soon she takes up her role in May.
I would like to end with a word of thanks to Marcel for his many years of dedication to AmCham Belgium. Under his leadership, the Chamber has grown to become one of the most trusted and influential business organizations in the country.
Stéphanie will build on the foundation that Marcel has laid, as we continue on our transformation journey. I am extremely excited about where we’re headed as an organization and the momentum and enthusiasm that I experience within our community.
Sincerely,
Philip Alliet, President
